Every year, fans look at the long list of fighting games to see which was the best release for that particular year. There is usually one game that stands out and while everyone tries to debate which is the best, that game holds the throne. 2015 has been an interesting year for fighting fans, though many are strongly awaiting the 2016 release of Street Fighter V.
That said, here’s a look at some of the top games with 2015 release dates that have made fighting gamers happy.
Mortal Kombat X
Any year a Mortal Kombat game comes out, you need to reserve it a spot on the top fighting games list. This is no exception, and the 10th installment of the series has blown many fans away. Indeed, it has a few flaws just like any fighting game would have. But it has much more than that, with insane online mode (when it works), much more devilish fatalities and graphics, and much more.
The rule for Mortal Kombat might also apply for Tekken; just like many previous installments of the series, Tekken 7 is a fan favorite. But, this installment wins a lot of cool points among fans for a few other reasons. One of those reasons is because the game is set to offer 3D fighting. That’s a big step towards virtual reality gaming, and surely something that will give “ooh” and “aww” moments to fighting gamers.
Dragon Ball XenoVerse
You have to be a Dragon Ball Z fan to bother with this fighting game, but if you are, it’s a whole lot of fun. The game will take place in many different 3D battle arenas, mainly designed based on memorable parts of the Dragon Ball world. Players can roam throughout the worlds pretty freely and have the ability to fight whether on land, water, above water, or under water. It’s a non-stop fight-for-your-life style game, which will give endless fun to Dragon Ball fans and fighting gamers alike.
While wrestling isn’t real per se, there is no doubt that wrestling games are still fun to play. And while they shouldn’t top any fighting game list, WWE 2K16 is still a game that deserves a spot on the list of the top fighting games by year. As with every new 2K edition, the controls and visuals get a million times better. Plus, the rosters update and everyone’s strengths and weaknesses apply to present date. For wrestling fans, it creates and orgasmic experience and with the many new gameplay modes, fans will find themselves occupied for months.
What Fighting Game is the Best of 2015?
That’s a hard question to answer, but most would probably say Tekken 7. This game attempts to create an experience like no other, where you can step into the 3D fight world and feel things play out. This novelty might wear of fast, or it could make for endless fun gameplay. But, the great appeal of Tekken fighting will not die out and gamers will find themselves having fun for a long time before getting bored with this one.
